Robbie Ellis
“If your electric shaver is about out of battery, be sure to shave your face symmetrically”
Robbie Ellis is an improv musician, composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist, occasional sound designer, occasional actor and occasional director. Has played music for Tim Bray Productions, Hot Pink Productions, Amici Forever, National Youth Orchestra and Jonny Doom & The Forcefields (among others).
He got his start in improv music at high school with the Theatresports Youth Programme and graduated to playing with the big kids in ConArtists in short order, playing continuously for seven years without even a dinner break. Robbie’s since moved to Wellington, where he works as a radio producer and presenter. Although he now does most of his improv in the capital with The Improvisors and Wellington Improvisation Troupe, he still returns to his home town every so often to play with ConArtists.
